Securecorp is seeking an experienced Control Room Operator for a busy retail site in Frankston. You will monitor the control room, CCTV, and access control systems to uphold safety and security.

The role requires strong observation, computer literacy, and the ability to work with security management systems. Applicants should have prior control room experience and current documentation such as a Victorian Security Licence and First Aid/CPR.

About The Opportunity

Securecorp is seeking an experienced Control Room Operator to join our team at a busy retail site in Frankston.

This is an excellent opportunity for a highly experienced security professional who has a strong background in control room operations, CCTV monitoring, access control and security systems.

The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining the safety and security of the site by effectively monitoring multiple systems, identifying potential risks, responding to incidents and maintaining accurate records.

This role requires someone who is highly observant, computer literate, detail-focused and confident working with technology and security management systems.

Duties And Responsibilities

As a Control Room Operator, your responsibilities will include:

• Operate and monitor the site's control room and associated security systems
• Monitor CCTV cameras and identify suspicious activity, security risks and incidents
• Monitor and manage access control systems, including authorised and unauthorised access
• Monitor alarms and respond appropriately to security and emergency events
• Coordinate and communicate with security officers, site management and emergency services when required
• Review CCTV footage and provide accurate information to assist with investigations
• Maintain detailed control room logs, incident reports and security records
• Record and escalation incidents in accordance with site procedures
• Monitor multiple systems simultaneously while maintaining a high level of attention to detail
• Identify potential security threats and take appropriate action
• Assist with investigations through accurate reporting, information gathering and CCTV review
• Maintain a professional and vigilant presence within the control room at all times
• Ensure all control room procedures and site security protocols are followed

Key Selection Criteria

We are looking for an experienced security professional who can demonstrate:

• Previous control room experience is essential
• Strong experience working with CCTV and security monitoring systems
• Experience with access control systems and security technology
• Excellent computer skills and confidence working across multiple computer-based systems
• Exceptional attention to detail and strong observational skills
• Ability to monitor multiple screens, systems and information sources simultaneously
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to accurately document incidents and maintain detailed records
• Sound judgement and the ability to remain calm and make decisions under pressure
• A professional approach with a strong focus on security, safety and customer service
• Ability to work independently while also communicating effectively with the wider security team
• Previous experience in a retail, shopping centre or high-volume security environment will be highly regarded
• Current Victorian Security Licence
• Current First Aid & CPR certification

This position is suited to an experienced Control Room Operator who is confident with technology, security systems and access control. Applicants without previous control room experience may not be suitable for this position.
