Department of Transport and Planning is seeking a Contracts Manager, Service Operations for a fixed-term 3-year role in Melbourne (CBD). The role ensures commercial and contractual oversight as the Future Public Transport Ticketing system moves from project delivery to ongoing operations.

You will manage compliance, variations and governance with strong stakeholder engagement. The position requires experience in commercial projects, government familiarity is desirable and a relevant tertiary

• Experience with State or Federal government (desirable).
• Relevant tertiary qualification in commerce, finance, economics, business management or related discipline (desirable).

About The Role

This is a Fixed Term Position for 3 years

The Future Public Transport Ticketing (FPTT) System will replace Myki with a modern account-based ticketing system designed to meet Victoria's transport needs for the next 15 years and beyond. It will provide greater customer flexibility and support faster changes to fares, policies and products.

The Contract Manager, Service Operations supports the transition from project delivery to business-as-usual operations. The role provides commercial and contractual oversight, manages compliance and contract variations, supports negotiations and value-for-money outcomes, and maintains effective governance, reporting and stakeholder relationships throughout the transition.

• Coordinates project delivery, clearly defines tasks, monitors progress against plans and takes corrective action to achieve agreed outcomes.

• Applies strong commercial and business acumen to maximise value, inform contract and expenditure decisions, and manage commercial risks.
• Collaborates effectively across teams, encourages knowledge sharing and helps create a culture focused on achieving shared outcomes.

Qualifications And Experience

You'll bring:

• Demonstrated experience working on commercial projects in either public and/or private sectors. (mandatory)
• Experience working with State or Federal Government (desirable).
• A relevant tertiary qualification in commerce, finance, economics, business management or related discipline is highly regarded (desirable).
