Design & Build Recruitment in Melbourne is seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to lead the commercial delivery of large-scale data centre projects. You will own the contract from tender handover through final account, protect margin and manage risk across the project lifecycle.

This senior role requires 10+ years with Tier 1/2 builders, strong MEP understanding, and proven negotiation skills. Base salary is AU$275k to AU$325k plus super, with career progression.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering or similar.
• 10+ years with a Tier 1 or Tier 2 builder, including recent Contracts or Commercial Manager experience.
• Proven delivery of data centre or other mission-critical projects (hyperscale, colocation, high-MEP-intensity builds) of $100m+.

Responsabilités

• Manage head contract and subcontract administration, including variations, EOTs, notices, claims and payment schedules.
• Lead subcontract procurement, tender analysis, negotiation and award across civil, structural, mechanical, electrical and fit-out packages.
• Prepare and report monthly cost-to-complete, forecasts, cashflow and risk/opportunity registers.
• Manage client relationships and commercial negotiations with hyperscale/colocation clients and their consultants.
• Oversee delays, disruptions and disputes, and drive commercial close-out and final accounts.
• Lead and mentor contract administrators and cost planners.

About you

• Proven delivery of data centre or other mission-critical projects (hyperscale, colocation, high-MEP-intensity builds) of $100m+
• Solid grasp of MEP-heavy packages, long-lead equipment procurement and staged handovers
• Strong negotiation, stakeholder and leadership skills
