Job summary

The BMD Group is seeking an experienced Contracts Administrator to join our Queensland team. You will manage and oversee the contractual and commercial aspects of project delivery, coordinating with project teams, subcontractors and suppliers to ensure contracts are administered effectively and risks are managed.

Initially based in Brisbane, the role will transition to the Sunshine Coast, offering a pathway to career growth and a coastal lifestyle while delivering major infrastructure projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, Economics, Law, Business or related discipline.
• 3–5 years' experience as Contracts Administrator or Commercial Administrator.
• Experience on civil infrastructure, road, bridge, rail, utilities or major construction projects.
• Proven experience managing subcontractor and supplier contracts.
• Strong procurement, project financial controls and cost management knowledge.
• Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
• Attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a project team.

Responsibilities

• Manage subcontractor and supplier contracts from award through to final completion
• Prepare and administer subcontract agreements and purchase orders
• Assess and process subcontractor claims, payment schedules and supplier invoices
• Manage contract variations, extensions of time and contractual correspondence
• Monitor project budgets, commitments and cost forecasts
• Support procurement activities, tender evaluations and subcontractor selection
• Provide commercial input into procurement processes and subcontract documentation
• Support monthly commercial reporting and project financial reviews
• Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities
• Maintain accurate project records and document control systems
• Work collaboratively with project delivery teams to achieve project objectives
• Ensure compliance with project, safety, environmental and quality requirements
