Job summary

GO Industrial is seeking a motivated Trainee Service Technician to join our Brisbane-area workshop, based in Deception Bay, Queensland. You’ll learn hands-on with experienced spray technicians, diagnosing and repairing fluid handling equipment on real customer gear from day one.

You’ll start by understanding how equipment works, then progress to diagnosing faults and performing repairs. A safe, tidy workshop and a clear training path await ambitious, practical applicants.

Qualifications

• A genuine interest in mechanics and how equipment works.
• Curious and keen to learn, and not afraid to ask questions.
• Patient, with an eye for detail. A good repair is a careful one.
• Reliable and on time, with a safety-first attitude.
• Comfortable talking with the team and, in time, with customers.
• Happy using a computer or tablet to look up parts and log job notes.

Responsibilities

• Servicing and repairing airless spray equipment, from contractor paint sprayers through to custom rigs.
• Working on linemarking equipment, the machines that paint our roads, car parks and sports fields.
• Getting to know process equipment and all sorts of pumping gear, including diaphragm, piston and transfer pumps.
• Stripping down, inspecting, rebuilding and testing equipment under the guidance of our senior technicians.
• Learning to read parts manuals and diagrams, and to identify the right spare parts for the job.
• Fault finding: working out what's actually wrong before anything gets replaced.
• Keeping clear job notes so customers know what was done and why.
• Keeping the workshop clean, safe and organised.

If you're the type who pulls things apart to see how they work, and you'd rather be on the tools than behind a desk, GO has a traineeship that'll turn that curiosity into a trade-level skill set.

As our trainee Service Technician, you'll work in our service bay alongside experienced spray technicians who've spent years working on this range of fluid handling equipment. You'll start by learning how the equipment works and why it fails, and you'll build up to diagnosing and repairing it yourself. No two days look the same.

What you'll be learning and doing:

• Servicing and repairing airless spray equipment, from contractor paint sprayers through to custom rigs

• Working on linemarking equipment, the machines that paint our roads, car parks and sports fields
