Design & Build Recruitment in Warrnambool, VIC is seeking an experienced Contract Administrator to join our established regional builder. You will manage subcontractor procurement, variations, cost controls and payments across a growing portfolio of social housing, healthcare and education projects.

The role offers autonomy, collaboration with the commercial team and the chance to own multiple projects from our Warrnambool base.

Qualifications

• 4–5 years’ experience in a Contract Administrator role within commercial construction.
• Relevant construction, building or quantity surveying qualification, or a trade background.
• Experience administering subcontractor packages, variations and progress claims.
• Ability to manage competing priorities across multiple projects.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills with stakeholders.

Join an established regional builder with a strong pipeline of work

An opportunity has become available for an experienced Contract Administrator to join an established commercial builder with a growing portfolio of projects across regional Victoria.
With a strong pipeline of recently secured work across social housing, healthcare, aged care, council and civic construction, the business is looking to strengthen its commercial team with a capable CA who can operate autonomously and support the delivery of multiple projects.
Based out of the Warrnambool office, you'll work across a diverse portfolio of projects, collaborating closely with the wider construction team to manage contractual obligations, procurement, project costs and subcontractor relationships.
This is an excellent opportunity for an Intermediate Contract Administrator looking to take ownership of their projects, broaden their experience and join a business with a strong regional presence and ongoing workload.

The Role

Reporting to the commercial and project delivery team, your responsibilities will include:

• Managing subcontractor procurement, tender comparisons, scope reviews and letting of trade packages.
• Preparing, reviewing and administering subcontract agreements and variations.
• Managing progress claims, payment schedules and subcontractor payments.
• Monitoring project costs, budgets, commitments and cost-to-complete reporting.
• Identifying and managing commercial risks, contractual notices and potential variations.
• Working closely with Project Managers and Site Managers to ensure commercial and contractual requirements are met.
• Maintaining accurate project documentation, registers and contractual records.
• Coordinating with consultants, clients and subcontractors to resolve commercial and contractual issues.
• Supporting the successful delivery of multiple projects across the region.

About You

To be successful in this role, you'll ideally bring:

• Approximately 4–5 years' experience in a Contract Administrator role within the commercial construction industry.
• A relevant construction, building or quantity surveying qualification, or a trade background combined with strong commercial construction experience.
• Experience administering subcontractor packages, variations, progress claims and project costs.
• The ability to manage competing priorities and work across multiple projects.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the confidence to build effective relationships with subcontractors and internal stakeholders.
• A proactive, organised approach and the ability to take ownership of your responsibilities.
• The ability to work collaboratively within an established regional construction team.
