Job description

About Us

LG BROTHERS CEILING&WALL PTY LTD aka LG Built delivers commercial construction, custom residential builds and fit-out projects across South Australia. We are seeking an organised and detail-oriented Contract Administrator to support the contractual and commercial aspects of our construction projects.

About the Role

Working closely with our Director, Project Manager and site teams, you will administer construction contracts, coordinate subcontractor procurement and maintain accurate project documentation to support successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare, review, interpret and administer construction contracts, subcontract agreements and supplier contracts for commercial construction, residential and fit-out projects, ensuring that scope, responsibilities, payment terms and completion requirements are clearly documented.
  • Review drawings, specifications, schedules and other contract documents to identify contractual obligations, scope discrepancies and matters requiring clarification before contracts are finalised or works proceed.
  • Coordinate subcontractor and supplier tender enquiries, assess quotations against project scope and contractual requirements, and negotiate contract terms within delegated authority.
  • Review and negotiate contract variations arising from changes to designs, materials, site conditions or client requirements, documenting their effects on scope, cost and completion dates and obtaining the necessary approvals.
  • Respond to contract-related enquiries from clients, subcontractors, suppliers and consultants, and resolve discrepancies concerning agreed scope, payment conditions, variations and other contractual obligations.
  • Maintain accurate contract records, including executed agreements, correspondence, instructions, variation registers, progress claims, approvals and supporting documentation.
  • Work closely with the teams and clients to clarify contract requirements and ensure that agreed deliverables and contractual milestones are met.
  • Monitor subcontractor performance against agreed scope, milestones and contract conditions, using site progress information to identify departures from work orders and report matters requiring corrective action.
  • Assess subcontractor progress claims and invoices against contract terms, approved variations and verified work completed, and prepare recommendations for payment approval.
  • Prepare and maintain contractual notices and supporting records relating to delays, extensions of time, variations and other claims, ensuring submission within applicable contractual timeframes.
  • Advise the Director and Project Manager on contractual risks, outstanding claims, disputed items and other matters requiring attention, and implement approved decisions through documented instructions and follow-up.
  • Collect and analyse contract and project data, and prepare reports on contract expenditure, approved and pending variations, outstanding commitments and the commercial effects of changes.
  • Coordinate contract close-out by reconciling final accounts, resolving outstanding contractual items and maintaining records of warranties, defects obligations and retention releases.
About You
  • Relevant qualification in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Business or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • At least one year of relevant experience in contract administration within the construction industry.
  • Sound understanding of contract terms and conditions, subcontractor procurement, progress claims, variations and contractual obligations.
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications and contract documents, and identify scope discrepancies and contractual issues.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to resolve contract-related enquiries and liaise effectively with clients, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to maintain accurate contract records and manage competing deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with construction contract administration or project management software would be an advantage.
