Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Principal Environmental Scientist/Engineer (Contaminated Land) to lead and shape contaminated land management initiatives from our Perth office. The role involves delivering strategic solutions, mentoring a team, and pursuing projects to grow the service stream.

The position offers flexible working arrangements, including work-from-home options and additional leave, with travel to sites as needed and ongoing career development opportunities within a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science, Engineering, Hydrogeology or Geology.
• 10 years of experience leading complex contaminated land projects across multiple sectors.
• Directing site investigations and supervising multidisciplinary teams; apply advanced sampling methods.
• Strong understanding of WA planning frameworks and contaminated land provisions.

Responsibilities

• Initiate, plan, lead and execute complex contaminated land and groundwater projects.
• Prepare and review technical reports (PSI, SAQP, DSI, RAP, SRV).
• Provide technical direction for cost-effective and pragmatic solutions.
• Mentor junior team members and oversee technical work.
• Prepare and negotiate bids and fee proposals.
• Provide commercial oversight to ensure profitability.
• Engage in client liaison and business development.
