Job summary

G.J. Gardner Homes Springfield & Ripley is seeking an experienced Construction Supervisor to manage on-site residential builds across the region. You will oversee scheduling, quality control, and relations with trades, suppliers, and clients to ensure a smooth build journey.

Your leadership will guide site teams, coordinate daily timelines, and uphold safety and building code compliance across projects in Springfield & Ripley.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Carpentry or equivalent building trade qualification.
• QBCC Site Supervisor Licence or eligibility to obtain.
• Experience managing on-site residential builds and site safety.

Responsibilities

• On-Site Project Management: oversee residential builds from slab to hand-over.
• Build Scheduling: coordinate timelines and material deliveries.
• Quality Control: regular site inspections to meet standards and codes.
• Subcontractor & Supplier Relations: maintain strong trade networks.
• Client Communication: update buyers at key milestones.

What You’ll Be Doing

• On-Site Project Management: Oversee residential building sites from slab down to hand-over, ensuring projects run smoothly, safely, and on schedule.

• Build Scheduling: Coordinate daily timelines, organise materials, and manage trade contractors efficiently to prevent site delays.

• Strict Quality Control: Conduct regular site inspections to ensure all workmanship meets G.J. Gardner’s high standards and local compliance regulations.

• Subcontractor & Supplier Relations: Build and maintain strong working relationships with local trades, contractors, and building material suppliers.

• Client Communication: Keep home buyers updated and reassured at key construction milestones throughout their build journey.

What You’ll Bring

• Trade Qualification: Certificate III in Carpentry or a relevant building trade qualification.

• Licences Required: Valid QBCC Site Supervisor Licence (or eligibility to obtain) and a valid Australian Driver’s Licence.

• Construction Literacy: Strong understanding of residential construction plans, timber framing, site safety (WHS), and QLD building codes.

• Leadership & Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills with the confidence to direct trade contractors, solve site issues proactively, and liaise with clients.

• Organisation: Solid time management and basic computer literacy to work with modern digital scheduling and project management tools.
