Construction Project Coordinator – Site & Design

Job summary

DCOH in Darwin seeks a capable Project Coordinator to support the delivery of construction projects through design, procurement, programme, documentation and on-site activities. You will help ensure safety, timeliness and budget adherence with effective coordination across teams.

Ideal candidates hold a tertiary qualification in Construction Management or Civil Engineering, with 2+ years' experience in project coordination, and strong planning and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Construction Management or Civil Engineering.
• Minimum 2 years' experience in project coordination or site coordination.
• Sound knowledge of construction methodology, sequencing and site delivery.
• Ability to read and interpret design drawings, specifications and technical reports.
• Strong planning, coordination and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management software.
• Willingness to learn and develop technical and project delivery capability.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and report progress of design and construction activities against milestones.
• Coordinate site works, subcontractors, materials and project resources.
• Assist with resolution of design queries and management of RFIs and drawings.
• Review drawings for accuracy, sequencing and buildability.
• Coordinate procurement activities, subcontractor submissions and tender documents.
• Track lead times, deliveries and project information to support programme outcomes.
• Support compliance with HSEQ systems, WHS legislation and quality requirements.
• Coordinate inspections, testing, certifications and as-built documentation.
• Maintain project registers, document control systems and reporting requirements.
• Liaise with consultants, subcontractors, authorities and internal teams to support delivery.
• Monitor compliance with Australian Standards, NCC/BCA requirements.
• Identify and escalate risks to the Project Manager.
• Support project administration including progress reporting and authority compliance.
• Contribute to a collaborative team culture and professional relationships.
