Design Coordination Specialist — Construction Projects

Job summary

DCOH is seeking a Darwin-based Design Coordinator to support the coordination, review and delivery of design documentation across the project lifecycle. You’ll work with the Design Manager, consultants and on-site teams to ensure information is accurate, compliant and delivered on schedule.

You will coordinate consultant deliverables, review drawings for buildability, participate in design workshops and support regulatory approvals while maintaining robust document control and design review

Qualifications

• Three to five years' experience in design coordination or project documentation.
• Strong understanding of construction processes, sequencing and key trades.
• Working knowledge of BCA, NCC and relevant Australian Standards.
• Ability to interpret architectural and engineering drawings.
• Experience coordinating consultant deliverables and approvals.
• Strong organisational and communication skills with attention to detail.
• Proficiency in document control and design review platforms such as Aconex/Revizto/Bluebeam.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate development and issue of design documentation in line with project timelines.
• Review design drawings for buildability and compliance.
• Facilitate resolution of design queries and conflicts with the Design Manager.
• Support authority and regulatory approvals including permit submissions.
• Lead and minute design workshops and coordination sessions.
• Maintain design documentation registers and review workflows.
• Liaise with consultants, subcontractors and suppliers to clarify scope and resolve queries.
• Monitor design briefs and ensure adherence to briefs and programmes.
• Ensure design documentation complies with BCA, NCC and Australian Standards.
