Job summary

Custom Steel Fab in Townsville is seeking a proactive Construction Project Coordinator to manage structural steel projects from planning to delivery. You will coordinate crews, materials, documentation and site logistics to keep projects safe, on schedule and within budget.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate structural crews, rosters and competencies.

• Monitor progress, labour hours, costs and budgets, identify discrepancies.
• Review and approve employee timesheets for accuracy and project allocation.
• Identify and assist with variations and supporting documentation.
• Maintain project documentation, JSEA's, permits and compliance.
• Coordinate workforce training and mobilization documentation.
• Attend site meetings, inspections and client reviews.

We're Hiring: Construction Project Coordinator | Steel Construction

Custom Steel Fab is a growing local steel construction company servicing the construction and mining industries. We are looking for a proactive and highly organized Project Coordinator to join our team and play a key role in the successful delivery of structural steel projects.

Location:Townsville (Local Position)
Remuneration:Highly competitive package based on experience and proven delivery.

Working closely with our General Manager, Supervisors, workshop and site crews, you will coordinate the people, materials, documentation and resources required to keep projects running safely, efficiently and on schedule.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Coordinate structural crews, workforce availability, rosters and competencies.
• Assist with project planning, scoping, work packs, methodologies, budgets and schedules.
• Coordinate project start-ups, documentation, permits, licenses and client requirements.
• Coordinate materials, procurement, deliveries, equipment and project resources.
• Monitor project progress, labour hours, costs and budgets, identifying discrepancies and escalating issues.
• Review and approve employee timesheets for accuracy, coding and project allocation.
• Identify and assist with preparation of variations and supporting documentation.
• Ensure project documentation, JSEA's, permits and compliance requirements are maintained.
• Coordinate workforce training, competency requirements and mobilization documentation.
• Attend site meetings, inspections, client reviews and project handovers.
• Maintain clear communication between project teams, clients, suppliers and subcontractors.
• Provide daily project updates to the General Manager covering progress, risks, issues and next steps.
• Provide administrative and coordination support to the Project Management and Estimating teams.
