Job summary

Sherridon Homes, part of the Mirrastone Group, is seeking a Construction Manager to lead our Bendigo region. You will guide Site Managers, manage build programs and ensure homes are delivered to high standards while meeting budget and timelines.

You will be the visible leader for construction, removing roadblocks and ensuring teams have the trades and resources needed to perform at their best, with ongoing regional leadership support.

Qualifications

The Opportunity

Due to an internal promotion, we are seeking an experienced and people-focused Construction Manager to lead our team of Site Managers across the Bendigo region.

This is an opportunity to take ownership of construction performance across an established region while supporting a capable team to deliver quality homes and a great experience for our clients.

You will be the visible leader of the construction team, providing direction, removing roadblocks, and ensuring our Site Managers have the support, trades, and resources needed to perform at their best.

The Role
  • Lead, support and develop a team of Site Managers across the Bendigo region

  • Oversee construction performance from site start through to handover

  • Manage build programs, construction timeframes, workflow and site allocations

  • Monitor revenue targets, forecasts, workloads and regional construction capacity

  • Ensure homes are delivered to the required quality standards and within budget

  • Drive compliance with OH&S requirements, building regulations and company procedures

  • Conduct regular site inspections and support Site Managers in resolving construction issues

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with trades, suppliers and internal departments

  • Ensure suitable trade coverage is maintained to support current and future workloads

  • Monitor and control construction costs, variations and ETS performance

  • Work closely with Operations, Sales, Customer Experience and other departments to improve the client journey

  • Manage escalated construction and customer matters professionally and efficiently

  • Drive accountability, consistency and continuous improvement across the construction team

  • Provide regular reporting on construction performance, risks and priorities

About You
  • Demonstrated experience as a Construction Manager, Building Manager or highly experienced Senior Site Manager within residential construction

  • Strong knowledge of the Victorian residential building industry and construction process

  • Proven ability to lead, develop and hold a team accountable

  • Strong planning, forecasting and problem-solving skills

  • Commercial awareness with experience managing budgets, build times and construction performance

  • A thorough understanding of OH&S obligations, building regulations and quality standards

  • Strong relationships within the Bendigo trade and supplier market will be highly regarded

  • Confident working with clients and resolving complex or escalated matters

  • A collaborative leadership style and willingness to remain hands-on when required

  • Clear communication skills and a positive, solutions-focused attitude
