Job summary

The Department of Justice is seeking a Maintenance Instructor to undertake routine and emergency maintenance of prison buildings, facilities equipment and grounds, and to provide productive work for prisoners across the maintenance trades.

You will undertake prisoner induction on industry practices, verify information and ensure accuracy prior to release; and you must hold a current manual class C driving licence, a Certificate III in Maintenance or a relevant trade, and a HLTAID003 First Aid

Qualifications

• Possess a current valid manual class C driving licence.
• Trade qualification Certificate III in Maintenance or a relevant Trade.
• Provide First Aid HLTAID003 accreditation with at least 12 months validity remaining.

Job description

The Maintenance Instructor will undertake all routine and emergency maintenance of the prisons buildings, facilities equipment and general grounds work, and are responsible for the provision of productive work for prisoners in all facets of the maintenance industry at the prison.

What you need

• Possess a current valid manual class “C” motor vehicle driving licence.
• Trade qualification Certificate III in Maintenance or a relevant Trade.
• Possess a current valid Provide First Aid (HLTAID003) accreditation (or equivalent eg Senior First Aid) received from an accredited training provider with a minimum of 12 months validity remaining.
