Job summary

Queensland Government is seeking a Trade Instructor to oversee daily operations inside a Correctional Centre. You will supervise prisoners, coordinate work and program activities, and support rehabilitation through productive tasks.

A role with no mandatory qualifications; vocational qualifications or trade experience are advantageous. A first aid certificate HLTAID003 and a C-class licence are preferred prerequisites.

Qualifications

• No mandatory qualifications for this position.
• A relevant vocational qualification or trade certificate is an advantage but not compulsory.
• Trade qualifications/experience in engineering, metal fabrication, timber, textiles would be well regarded.
• Certificate in Apply First Aid HLTAID003 (must be obtained prior to appointment).
• Must hold a current C class driver licence.

Responsibilities

• Control the daily operations of a business unit within a correctional centre.
• Supervise prisoners daily and participate in rehabilitation through work and program activities.
• Monitor and maintain the security of the correctional centre.
