Job summary

Queensland Corrective Services is seeking a Trade Instructor to oversee the daily operations of a business unit within a Correctional Centre in Queensland. You will supervise prisoners, support rehabilitation through work and program activities, and ensure the security of the facility.

Qualifications

• No mandatory qualifications for this position; a vocational qualification or trade certificate would be advantageous.
• Trade qualifications and/or experience in engineering/metal fabrication, timber product manufacture, textiles and clothing would be well regarded.
• Certificate in Apply First Aid (HLTAID003) must be obtained prior to appointment.
• A current C class driver licence must be held.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of a business unit within a Correctional Centre.
• Supervise prisoners on a daily basis and actively participate in their rehabilitation through work and program activities.
• Monitor and maintain the security of the correctional centre.
• Incumbent may be required to undertake other duties outside of primary accountabilities.
