Trade Circle is seeking a Construction Industry Bookkeeper to join our team in a full-time, work-from-home capacity. You will support trade and construction clients, manage numbers, cash flow and reporting while embracing ownership and independent work.

Ideal candidates have hands-on construction bookkeeping experience, advanced Xero skills, and proven ability to integrate Xero with construction job management software.

Construction Industry Bookkeeper | Full-Time | Work From Home

Trade Circle works closely with trade and construction business owners, helping them manage their finances, improve systems and make informed business decisions.

We're looking for an experienced Construction Industry Bookkeeper who enjoys taking ownership, working independently and delivering exceptional client service.

This is a full-time, work-from-home position offering some flexibility around start and finish times, while requiring consistent availability during business hours.

Essential Experience – Please Read Before Applying

We're looking for someone who understands the construction industry and can hit the ground running.

To be considered, you must meet all three essential requirements:

• Proven, hands‑on bookkeeping experience within the construction industry. You must understand the financial processes and day‑to‑day operations of trade and construction businesses.

• Advanced Xero knowledge, including payroll, reconciliations and financial management, with a sound understanding of how and why inter‑entity transactions are processed.

• Strong experience with construction job management software and its integration with Xero. You must understand how information flows between systems and be confident identifying and resolving discrepancies. Experience with Simpro, AroFlo, Fergus, ServiceM8, Tradify or similar platforms is required.

Please note: While we recognise that bookkeeping skills are transferable across industries, this role requires proven construction industry experience. We are seeking someone who can confidently step into the role, rather than someone looking to transition into construction bookkeeping.

What You’ll Be Doing

Your work will directly support business owners in understanding their numbers, managing their cash flow and making better decisions.

We're looking for someone who doesn't just process transactions but understands how the information fits together and why it matters.

Your day‑to‑day responsibilities will include:

• Payroll processing and timesheet management

• Bank and credit card reconciliations

• Customer invoicing and creditor management

• Monthly supplier statement reconciliations

• Maintaining accurate and up‑to‑date Xero files

• Reviewing transactions and integrations between construction job management systems and Xero

• Identifying discrepancies and following them through to resolution

• Communicating directly with clients

• Potential involvement in transport industry compliance, including administrative and regulatory requirements

Experience in transport industry compliance would be advantageous but is not essential.
