Job summary

NECTA – National Engineering & Construction Training Academy is hiring a Trainer & Assessor for construction and high-risk work in the Greater Sydney Area. The role focuses on planning and delivering vocational training, assessing learner competency, and ensuring compliance with RTO standards.

The successful candidate will develop learning resources, coach diverse learners, maintain records, and collaborate with industry partners to keep training current and industry-relevant.

Qualifications

• Experience in vocational education and training environments.
• Ability to plan, deliver and assess in workshops and classrooms.
• Familiarity with competency-based assessment and learning resources.
• Knowledge of VET and RTO compliance and quality assurance processes.
• Effective communication and mentoring across diverse learner groups.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver vocational training programs in construction and high-risk work.
• Assess learner competency against accredited units.
• Develop and update learning resources and assessment tools.
• Ensure training and assessment comply with RTO/regulatory requirements.
• Provide coaching, feedback and support to diverse learners.
• Maintain accurate training records and participate in moderation/validation.
• Engage with industry partners and maintain professional currency.
