Job summary

AJP Group is seeking a Construction Accounts & Systems Specialist to own our accounts payable/receivable, manage project costing and drive automation. You will implement efficient systems, ensure accurate financial records and provide transparent reporting.

The role requires advanced Xero and Excel skills, strong cost control and experience with construction invoicing platforms, builder portals and digital financial tools.

Qualifications

• Construction industry accounts experience is essential.
• Advanced Xero and Excel skills with financial reporting.
• Strong understanding of construction job costing, progress claims, retentions and payment processes.
• Experience with construction invoicing platforms, builder portals and digital financial systems.
• Experience administering WorkCover, Incolink, CoINVEST and CBUS is desirable.
• Proactive in identifying improvements and implementing efficient accounting systems.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day accounts payable and receivable, reconciliations, invoicing and accurate financial records.
• Track outstanding construction retentions, progress payments and overdue accounts, liaising with builders and accounts departments.
• Allocate income and expenditure to projects, monitor job costs and assist with P&L reporting.
• Develop spreadsheets, monthly reports and dashboards showing payments, balances and expenditure.
• Manage invoicing portals, progress claim submissions and retention tracking; identify opportunities to improve systems through automation.
• Oversee WorkCover, Incolink, CoINVEST, CBUS and associated contributions, reporting and entitlements.
• Assist with employee onboarding and maintain accurate employee records and compliance documentation.
• Work with external accountant to ensure accurate records, reporting and compliance.
