Qualifications

• Proven experience working as an Estimator in the construction industry with 3-5 years in a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, labour costs and industry standards.
• Proficiency in estimating software and tools commonly used in the construction sector.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and other relevant computer applications.
• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to produce accurate calculations and documentation.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and construction documents.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Professional qualifications in estimating or quantity surveying are highly desirable.
• Knowledge of Australian construction standards and regulations is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Analyse project plans, specifications and tender documents to determine scope of work and material requirements.
• Travel and attend Pre Tender Site Meetings.
• Calculate project costs by compiling information on materials, labour, equipment and other expenses.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates and quotations for clients and project bids.
• Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain accurate pricing information and quotes.
• Review and validate estimates for accuracy and completeness before submission.
• Complete submission forms and prepare and compile tender submission documentation.
• Maintain comprehensive estimating documentation and historical cost data for future reference.
• Assist in the tender bidding process and support project acquisition efforts.
• Monitor and analyse cost variations throughout project delivery.
• Collaborate with project management and engineering teams to ensure estimates align with project requirements.
• Provide cost-related advice to support business decision-making and project planning.
