Pro-Tilt Constructions in Melbourne is seeking an experienced Estimator to join our growing construction team. You will prepare accurate and competitive estimates and tenders across commercial and industrial projects, working closely with Directors, Project Managers and subcontractors.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as an Estimator within the commercial or industrial construction sector.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials and building practices.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to accurately manage multiple tenders and deadlines.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Excellent computer skills, particularly Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with estimating/tendering software is highly desirable.
• A proactive approach with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• A strong understanding of Australian construction practices and standards.
• A current driver's licence.

Responsibilities

• Review and interpret architectural, structural and engineering drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
• Prepare detailed and accurate construction estimates, take-offs and tender submissions.
• Obtain and assess subcontractor and supplier quotations.
• Prepare scopes of works and trade packages for pricing.
• Identify project costs, risks, exclusions and potential variations.
• Compare and analyse subcontractor and supplier pricing.
• Develop detailed bills of quantities and cost estimates.
• Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, consultants and clients as required.
• Conduct site visits and pre-tender inspections where required.
• Assist with value engineering and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
• Ensure estimates are accurate, competitive and submitted within required timeframes.
• Maintain pricing databases and supplier/subcontractor relationships.
• Assist the project team with budgets, procurement and cost planning when required.
• Keep up to date with current construction costs, materials, labour rates and market conditions.
