IRM Group in Melbourne seeks a hands-on Construction Driver / Logistics Coordinator to own daily material and logistics needs across active sites. You will manage deliveries, plan routes, coordinate suppliers and ensure materials are ready at the Yarraville factory before site use.

Ideal candidates will have experience in commercial construction, warehousing or logistics, be highly organised, physically capable, and comfortable liaising with site Supervisors and suppliers.

IRM Group is an established Melbourne commercial construction and interior fitout company operating for more than 30 years.

We are seeking a hands-on Construction Driver / Logistics Coordinator to take ownership of the day-to-day material and logistics requirements across our active construction sites.

This is more than a delivery driver role. You will deal directly with Site Supervisors, understand what materials and equipment are required, organise and collect supplier orders, prepare materials at our Yarraville factory and plan your own daily delivery runs and works.

Key Responsibilities

Receive daily material and equipment requirements directly from Site Supervisors.

Order materials through our existing construction suppliers.

Pick up and deliver materials, tools and equipment across Greater Melbourne.

Pick required stock and materials from our Yarraville factory.

Load the delivery vehicle in preparation for the following day's runs.

Plan and manage your own daily delivery schedule and route.

Transfer materials and equipment between construction sites.

Coordinate and carry out bin pickups and deliveries as required.

Collect unused materials, tools and equipment from sites.

Receive, check, sort and store incoming factory deliveries.

Keep the factory, storage areas and project materials organised.

Label and separate materials for individual projects.

Monitor common construction materials and consumables.

Assist with stocktakes and stock management.

Load and unload construction materials and equipment.

Use hand and power tools to carry out basic preparation work, including cutting metal, aluminium and timber components to required sizes.

Liaise directly with suppliers and site teams regarding orders, collections and deliveries.

Disposal of waste collected on site and moving our skip bin in factory in and out when required.

Performing labouring work on construction sites.

About You

You will ideally have experience in commercial construction, building supplies, warehousing/logistics, a trade environment or construction delivery.

General construction knowledge is important, as you will need to understand the types of materials used on commercial fitout projects, including plasterboard, metal stud and track, aluminium, timber, fixings, hardware, tools and construction consumables.

You will be:

Highly organised and reliable.

Comfortable dealing directly with Site Supervisors and suppliers.

Able to work independently and take ownership of your day.

Practical and hands-on.

Confident using common construction hand and power tools.

Physically capable of loading, unloading and moving construction materials.

Able to use email, Word and Excel for basic communication and administration.

Vehicle & Equipment

IRM Group will provide the delivery vehicle, mobile phone and other equipment required for the role.

The delivery vehicle remains at our Yarraville factory, so you will require your own reliable transport to and from work.

The Role

The objective of this position is to take full ownership of our daily site logistics.

With training, you will understand what each site requires, know where to source it, organise the order or collection, prepare and load the required materials, and ensure they reach site when needed.

The following day's deliveries should be organised and loaded the afternoon before so the morning run can commence immediately wherever possible.
