Job summary
Maddocks in Canberra is seeking a full-time Associate or Senior Associate (4-8 year PQE) front-end construction, contracts and procurement lawyer to join our Canberra real estate and construction team. You will work with clients including government, developers and major construction companies on practical and commercial advice.
You'll have opportunities to progress your career, work with senior partners and clients, and gain training in a supportive close-knit team, with occasional cross-work
Qualifications
- Front-end lawyer in construction or projects with relevant experience
- Strong technical legal skills and interest in construction/infrastructure
- Client-focused with understanding of commercial drivers
- Exceptional contract and advice drafting abilities
- Independent thinker with ability to learn quickly
Responsibilities
- Advise on construction, infrastructure and development projects in ACT, nationally and in the Pacific
- Collaborate with senior team members, partners and clients on high‑quality work
- Flexible work across construction and real estate practice areas
- Provide practical and commercial legal guidance to government, developers and major contractors
