Job summary

Maddocks is seeking a front-end Lawyer/Associate (2-4+ years PQE) to join our Melbourne Construction and Projects team. You will work on a broad range of project documentation and advisory matters for government and major contractors, while developing your practice in a supportive environment.

You will mentor junior lawyers, contribute to BD activities, and collaborate with Partners. This role offers a hybrid work model and a pathway to advance in a leading Australian law firm.

Qualifications

• Transactional/front-end lawyer in a construction or projects team.
• Sound technical legal ability and drafting skills.
• Genuine interest in working in the construction and infrastructure sector.
• Exhibit a client-focused approach with a deep understanding of commercial drivers in the industry.
• Be an independent thinker, comfortable learning new concepts quickly and contributing your ideas.

Responsibilities

About The Role

We are currently looking for a front-end Lawyer/Associate (2-4+ years PQE) to join our highly regarded, dynamic and growing Melbourne team.

In This Role You Would

• Work for a wide range of clients, encompassing a strong Government practice, major local and international contractors and principals;


• Draft, review, negotiate and provide advice on a range of project documentation, including construction contracts, consultancy agreements, side deeds and project deeds;


• Contribute to the team’s business development activities; and


• Mentor the more junior team members and work alongside Partners Simone Holding, Billy Gialamas, Andrew Pitney and Sefton Warner.

About You

In order to be considered, to be successful and thrive in this role, you will:
