Job summary

Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand in Sydney CBD is seeking a Lawyer, Conduct & Discipline to investigate complaints and conduct matters involving CA ANZ members and support fair disciplinary processes. You will prepare matters for the Professional Conduct Committee, Disciplinary Tribunal and Appeals Council, and communicate with relevant parties.

You will bring a legal qualification with strong analytical skills and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced

Qualifications

• A relevant tertiary qualification in law.
• Experience with dispute resolution, litigation, case management, complaints handling and/or conciliation.
• Strong critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to build professional relationships.
• Strong organisation, able to manage deadlines and work under pressure.
• Proactive, adaptable and collaborative approach with commitment to learning and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Investigate complaints and member conduct matters in line with CA ANZ guidelines and charter.
• Prepare matters for Professional Conduct Committee meetings, Disciplinary Tribunal and Appeals Council hearings.
• Analyse complex conduct issues with sound judgement and procedural fairness.
• Communicate professionally with members, complainants and disciplinary panel members.
• Collaborate with Conduct & Discipline team on investigation strategies and process improvements.
