Job summary

Heidelberg Materials is seeking a Concrete Field Tester to join the Skygate Laboratory team. You will sample and test fresh concrete on construction sites, collect samples, and assist lab technicians with compression tests on cured specimens.

You will report to the Laboratory Supervisor in a role that combines fieldwork with on-site testing and safety-focused practice. The position offers a clear career path within a large Australian and global organisation, with ongoing development

Qualifications

• Must be physically able to carry load (e.g., 15 litres of concrete) and work safely.
• Queensland driver license required or held.
• Experience with Australian Standards testing and testing signatory is valued.

Responsibilities

• Sample and test fresh concrete on construction sites per Australian standards.
• Collect concrete test samples from multiple sites (30-5 sites/day).
• Assist lab technicians and perform compression and strength tests on cured specimens.

**Concrete Field Tester** We have an opportunity for an enthusiastic and professional Concrete Field Tester to join our team at our Skygate Laboratory. The principal areas of responsibility will be ensuring full compliance with Australian Standards and NATA requirements for sampling and testing of concrete mixes and entering test results into multi-faceted systems.With relevant experience expect to start at around $30.19/hr and earn around $90k per annum upwards with typical overtime. **About the Role:** * Sampling and testing fresh concrete as per Australian standards on construction sites.* Collecting concrete test samples (concrete in moulds, approx. 5kg) from construction sites - typically from 3 - 5 sites @ day* Assisting Lab technicians and carrying out compression and other strength tests on cured concrete specimens in our Skygate/Southport Laboratory* Working safely and accurately* Reporting to Laboratory Supervisor **Background and Experience required:** * Queensland driver's licence* Previous qualification in Laboratory Techniques/signatory will be highly regarded* Perform tests in accordance with Australian Standards* Physically fit (Able to carry 15 litres of concrete for each test.
