Job summary

Heidelberg Materials Australia Pty Ltd is seeking a motivated Concrete Field Tester to join the Skygate Laboratory team. Primary duties include sampling and testing fresh concrete per Australian Standards and entering results into our testing systems.

You will collect concrete samples from 3–5 sites daily, assist lab technicians, and conduct compression tests on cured specimens. A valid Queensland driver’s licence and a pre-employment medical are required; a Cert IV or Diploma in Laboratory

Qualifications

• Must hold a Queensland driver's licence.
• Previous qualification in laboratory techniques signatory is highly regarded.
• Perform tests in accordance with Australian Standards.
• Physically fit to carry 15 litres of concrete per test; trolleys provided.

Responsibilities

• Sampling and testing fresh concrete per Australian Standards on construction sites.
• Collecting concrete test samples from multiple sites (3–5 per day).
• Assisting lab technicians and carrying out compression tests on cured concrete specimens.
• Working safely and accurately; reporting to Laboratory Supervisor.

Job description

We have an opportunity for an enthusiastic and professional Concrete Field Tester to join our team at our Skygate Laboratory. The principal areas of responsibility will be ensuring full compliance with Australian Standards and NATA requirements for sampling and testing of concrete mixes and entering test results into multi-faceted systems.

With relevant experience expect to start at around $30.19/hr and earn around $90k per annum upwards with typical overtime.

About the Role:

• Sampling and testing fresh concrete as per Australian standards on construction sites.
• Collecting concrete test samples (concrete in moulds, approx. 5kg) from construction sites - typically from 3 - 5 sites @ day
• Assisting Lab technicians and carrying out compression and other strength tests on cured concrete specimens in our Skygate/Southport Laboratory
• Working safely and accurately
• Reporting to Laboratory Supervisor

Background and Experience required:

• Queensland driver's licence
• Previous qualification in Laboratory Techniques/signatory will be highly regarded
• Perform tests in accordance with Australian Standards
• Physically fit (Able to carry 15 litres of concrete for each test. Trollies can be provided)
• Pass a pre-employment medical which includes drug/alcohol testing.
