Job summary

Hollard Insurance is seeking a Compliance Principal, Oversight for a 12-month max term contract commencing January 2027. The role is based in Australia with hybrid/remote options and is open to Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane candidates.

You will report to the Lead Compliance Principal within Group Compliance and contribute to the Compliance Oversight Team, helping manage regulatory compliance and risk across the organisation.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a Line 2 Compliance role or similar function.
  • Experience in legal, insurance and/or financial services compliance experience (General insurance strongly preferred).
  • Good compliance processing end-to-end skills obtained within the General Insurance industry is strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of the regulatory compliance landscape (APRA prudential standards, Corporations Act & Regulations, ASIC Act and Regulatory Guides, Insurance Contracts Act, and the GI Code of Practice).
  • Must have the ability to build good relationships with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting with deep-dive thematic reviews and/or analysis to identify gaps in compliance or regulatory compliance issues.
  • Supporting and providing compliance advice on regulatory change projects (e.g., Privacy Act Review).
  • Providing compliance advice, including on the effectiveness of compliance risk management at Hollard.
  • Supporting the business to manage regulatory compliance incidents.
  • Supporting regulatory lodgements or responding to Regulator requests from ASIC, APRA, the OAIC and other organisations

Your Team

Hollard’s Group Compliance Function (Group Compliance) forms part of the designated Line 2 Risk for the Hollard Insurance Companies and plays a key role in supporting the effective management of compliance risk, within Hollard’s broader Risk Management Framework.

Your Role

This role will be reporting to the Lead Compliance Principal and is part of the Compliance Oversight Team (COT).

As a part of the Group Compliance team, you will have the chance to work alongside highly experienced risk and compliance specialists in an interesting and fulfilling role, brimming with opportunities. Group Compliance currently has 3 teams:The Compliance Enablement Team, The Compliance Incident Management Team, and Compliance Oversight Team.

This role will commence in January 2027, providing the successful candidate with the opportunity to plan ahead of their next career move

Your Duties and responsibilities

Reporting to a Lead Compliance Principal/ Senior Compliance Principal within Group Compliance, you may work in one, or a combination of the functions listed above

This role also provides opportunities to support the Group Head of Compliance and broader Group Compliance team to achieve the team's objectives, including:

Assisting with deep-dive thematic reviews and/or analysis to identify gaps in compliance or regulatory compliance issues.

Supporting and providing compliance advice on regulatory change projects (e.g., Privacy Act Review).

Providing compliance advice, including on the effectiveness of compliance risk management at Hollard.

Supporting the business to manage regulatory compliance incidents.

Supporting regulatory lodgements or responding to Regulator requests from ASIC, APRA, the OAIC and other organisations

Knowledge and Experience

Experience in a Line 2 Compliance role or similar function.

Experience in legal, insurance and/or financial services compliance experience (General insurance strongly preferred).
