Job summary

Downer is seeking an experienced Compliance Advisor to join our Power Projects team within Energy and Utilities. Reporting to the Head of Quality, Governance and Support Services, you will drive training and competency administration across the business, uphold compliance in client systems, and support apprenticeship programs and plant risk management.

You will work with operational teams, clients, RTOs, suppliers and subcontractors to coordinate training activities, maintain accurate records

Qualifications

• Experience managing training records and audits.
• Knowledge of plant or competency management systems.
• Strong communication and stakeholder relationship skills.
• Planning, coordination and problem solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate training providers, venues, schedules and resources.
• Support site inductions and project-specific training programs.
• Complete training needs analysis for employees and subcontractors.
• Maintain training calendars, registers and booking records.
• Create/update profiles within Downer and client competency systems.
• Upload licences, qualifications and induction records.
• Monitor competency, course and certification compliance.
• Identify expiries and escalate compliance exceptions.
• Prepare regular compliance and training reports.
• Support health, safety and environmental requirements.

Job description

Downer's Energy and Utilities business has an opportunity for an experienced Compliance Advisor to join our Power Projects team. Reporting to the Head of Quality, Governance and Support Services, you will support the ongoing implementation and administration of training and competency requirements across the business. You will maintain compliance within Downer and client competency management systems while also supporting apprenticeship programs and plant risk management system compliance. This role will see you work closely with operational teams, clients, registered training organisations, suppliers and subcontractors to coordinate training activities and maintain accurate competency records.

Key responsibilities include

• Coordinating training providers, venues, schedules and resources
• Supporting site inductions and project specific training programs
• Completing training needs analysis for employees and subcontractors
• Maintaining training calendars, registers and booking records
• Creating and updating profiles within Downer and client competency management systems
• Uploading licences, qualifications and induction records
• Monitoring competency, course and certification compliance
• Identifying upcoming expiries and escalating compliance exceptions
• Preparing regular compliance and training reports
• Supporting a proactive and positive approach to health, safety and environmental requirements

What we're looking for

• At least five years of experience in a similar training, competency or compliance role
• Experience developing skills or competency matrices
• Experience managing training records, compliance activities and audits
• Knowledge of plant or competency management systems
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• The ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels
• Strong planning, coordination and problem solving capabilities
• The ability to work both independently and collaboratively
• Confidence using Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
• A Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is preferred
• Experience working within a large multidisciplinary organisation with a diverse workforce will be highly regarded.
