Job summary

St Basil’s Homes NSW/ACT is seeking a compassionate Community Support Worker to join our home care team in Lakemba. Opportunities are available on a part-time and casual basis.

The role focuses on delivering individualised in-home care and support to clients, helping with daily living activities and community access. Ideal candidates will hold a Certificate III or higher, have at least 1 year in home care or related fields, and possess First Aid/CPR certification plus a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Certificate III or higher in a related field is required.
• Minimum 1 year experience in home care, community work or disability services.
• First Aid and CPR certifications (or willingness to obtain) required.
• Current Australian driver’s license and insured vehicle; able to transport up to three clients if required.
• Greek speaking is preferred but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with activities of daily living per care plans (personal care, domestic assistance, companionship).
• Provide support to clients in their homes to enable independent living.
• Accompany clients for community access (shopping, activities, appointments).
• Maintain privacy, confidentiality and dignity for clients.
• Respond to emergencies using first aid as required; report incidents or hazards.
• Maintain accurate care records and documentation.
