Job summary

Southern Cross Community Healthcare is seeking a Disability Support Worker to assist a 49-year-old man with Traumatic Brain Injury and Spinal Cord Injury in his home in Flinders, NSW. The role involves 24/7 support, medication administration, meals, and community participation, with training and safety checks required.

Candidates must have a Certificate III in Ageing and Disability, current checks (NDIS, WWCC, First Aid) or willingness to obtain, and a valid driver’s license with access to a

Qualifications

• Mandatory Certificate III in Ageing and Disability or equivalent.
• NDIS screening check required or willing to obtain.
• First Aid certification required or willing to obtain.
• Working with Children Check required or willing to obtain.
• Current driver’s license and access to a car is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Medication administration following care plans.
• Assist with allied healthcare plans and documentation.
• Domestic tasks and meal preparation for the participant.
• Use of specialised equipment as directed.
• Support community participation and engagement.
• Monitor behaviour and report changes promptly.
• Maintain accurate records and reporting.
