Job summary

RGIT Australia is seeking a casual entry-level Disability Support Worker in Colac, Victoria. The role focuses on providing compassionate personal care, promoting independence, and supporting clients within the community.

You will assist with daily living activities, mobility, and transport, while maintaining documentation and collaborating with healthcare professionals to follow individual care plans. The position offers casual hours including mornings, evenings, and weekends.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Disability (or willingness to obtain).
• A genuine interest in supporting individuals with disabilities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Basic understanding of disability support practices and principles.
• Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not essential.
• Willingness to undergo relevant training and background checks.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care and support to individuals with disabilities, including assistance with daily living activities.
• Encourage and support clients in participating in community activities and social events.
• Assist with mobility and transportation needs, ensuring clients can access necessary services.
• Maintain accurate records of client progress and report any changes in behaviour or health to the appropriate personnel.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individual care plans.
• Promote a safe and supportive environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
