Kanda is seeking compassionate disability support workers to provide person-centred, trauma-informed care in home and community settings across the ACT. You will support daily living activities, promote independence and help participants achieve personal goals.

The role involves following detailed care plans, documenting progress and maintaining strong rapport with participants, families and the broader care team. Training and clear career pathways are provided.

Competenze

• Minimum 1 year experience in disability support or related field.
• Experience supporting participants with complex mental health and psychosocial needs.
• Understanding of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) and trauma-informed approaches.
• Ability to follow detailed support plans and routines.
• Strong documentation and incident reporting skills.
• Ability to work independently and mentor teammates.

Mansioni

• Provide one-to-one support in home and community, including personal care, daily routines, appointments, household tasks and meal preparation.
• Assist with community access, social participation, hobbies and employment goals.
• Provide reassurance and emotional support during distress with regulation strategies and de-escalation.
• Implement PBS strategies and individualized support plans with clear communication and routines.
• Support medication prompts and health routines, monitor wellbeing during health changes.
• Build respectful relationships with participants, families and support teams; complete shift notes and incident documentation.
