Job summary

CareChoice is seeking compassionate Disability Support Workers to support NDIS participants with complex behaviours and mental health needs in the Melbourne area. You will provide person-centered support, promote safety and independence, and help participants achieve their goals.

Ideal candidates hold a Certificate III or IV in Individual Support or Disability, have at least 3 years experience, knowledge of behavioural support plans, and current screening and first aid.

Qualifications

• Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Disability or related field.
• Minimum 3+ years experience as a Disability Support Worker.
• Experience supporting participants with mental illness and complex behaviours of concern.
• Current NDIS Worker Screening Check, Working with Children Check as well as First Aid and CPR Training.

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centered support to participants with complex behavioural support needs
• Support participants with daily living, community access and achieving their individual goals
• Follow Behaviour Support Plans and Client Care Plans including established safety strategies
• Respond calmly and appropriately to behaviours of concern and challenging behaviours
• Work collaboratively with the broader care team
