Job summary

The Hills Shire Council is hiring a community support helper to assist older residents to live independently at home across Western Sydney. You will provide transport to appointments, help with daily living activities and personal care, and support participants to achieve their goals using person-centred practices.

Applicants should have 3+ years in a similar role, possess Certificate III in Individual Support (or equivalent), and hold First Aid/CPR.

Qualifications

• More than 3 years in a similar home care role.
• Ability to work across the Western Sydney region.
• Cantonese, Mandarin and Arabic language skills are desirable.

You'll provide personalised support to clients aged 65 and over while giving carers valuable respite and peace of mind. Our services operate throughout Western Sydney, including Blacktown, The Hills Shire, Parramatta and Cumberland LGAs.

What this role looks like:

What are we seeking in our new team member:

• Able to work across the Western Sydney region
• Positive and engaged individual with more than 3 years in a similar role
• Cantonese, Mandarin and Arabic speaker is highly desirable
• Punctuality and reliability; our participants depend on you
• Drivers Licence (Class C) – NSW and your own car with comprehensive insurance cover
• Current First Aid and CPR Certificate or a willingness to obtain one
• Certificate III Individual Support or equivalent
