Job summary

Haven Care Australia Pty Ltd – Chapman ACT is seeking dedicated workers to provide practical support and personal care for residents with complex needs. You will help clients develop independence, access community activities, and maintain accurate records in a residential setting.

The role requires a current driver’s license, a valid Working with Vulnerable People Card (ACT), and first aid/mental health first aid qualifications.

Qualifications

• Minimum Certificate III, Certificate IV, Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Mental Health/ Disability/ Welfare/ Mental Health Peer work, Community services or equivalent.
• A current Working with Vulnerable People Card (ACT).
• A valid National Police Check (issued within 12 months) or willing to undergo a National Police Check.
• A completed first aid certificate and Mental Health First Aid within the probationary period.
• A current Drivers Licence, and ability to drive and have a car.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and support with personal care, home care, and daily living tasks.
• Assist clients to develop or recover independent living skills and promote client choice and control.
• Be able to work independently and manage complex behaviours.
• Escort clients as required and support community access and activities.
• Attend meetings and maintain resident records in line with Haven Care policies.

Education
