Job summary

Kempsey Shire Council is seeking a proactive Community Recovery and Resilience Coordinator to support local recovery and build long-term resilience across the Shire, particularly in response to flooding and other disaster impacts. Funded by the NSW Reconstruction Authority, you will design and deliver meaningful recovery, resilience and preparedness initiatives that respond to local needs.

You will coordinate community-led projects and strengthen the local Community Resilience Network to help

Qualifications

• Relevant qualifications in Community Development or Project Management, or equivalent experience.
• Strong project management, planning and organisational skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with diverse stakeholders.
• Experience with grant-funded projects, budgets and reporting.
• Ability to analyse information to inform practical decisions.
• Current driver's licence and willingness to attend events outside hours.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver recovery, resilience and preparedness initiatives.
• Coordinate community-led projects and programmes.
• Administer the Community Flood Recovery and Resilience Grants Program.
• Strengthen the Community Resilience Network and partnerships.
• Monitor budgets and prepare reports.
