Job summary

Sunshine Coast Regional Council in Nambour is seeking a Recovery Officer to coordinate and enhance disaster recovery capability, partnering with internal and external stakeholders to strengthen community resilience in the Sunshine Coast region.

You will lead planning, governance support, stakeholder engagement and continuous improvement initiatives to shape recovery readiness and long-term resilience for communities, while contributing to a sustainable, liveable region.

Qualifications

• Qualifications in disaster management or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Exceptional communicator who builds strong relationships with stakeholders.
• Highly analytical and solutions-focused with risk assessment ability.
• Confident using Microsoft Office and information management systems.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate recovery activities with Local Recovery Coordinator, recovery groups and functional sub-groups.
• Coordinate recovery reporting, information management and situational awareness for informed decisions.
• Administer disaster recovery funding, grants management and financial acquittal processes.
• Coordinate recovery preparedness and continuous improvement initiatives, including training, exercises and governance reviews.
