Job description

The Opportunity
A growing disability services provider is seeking a Lifestyle Manager to lead and develop its community participation service.

Based in Sydney’s south-west, the role oversees a community hub and activities delivered in local community settings. The service currently supports around 40 participants, with scope to expand into further locations as it grows.

You’ll lead the day-to-day operation of the service, supporting the team to deliver activities that reflect participants’ interests, goals and choices. You’ll work with participants and families, respond to feedback and help develop new ways for people to build skills, connection and independence. The community is culturally and linguistically diverse, so cultural awareness and inclusive communication will be important.

This is a practical, service-facing leadership role for someone who can keep the operation organised while bringing creativity and fresh thinking to its development.

You will:

  • Lead and support the Hub Lead, Activity Leads and Support Workers
  • Oversee activity planning, staffing and day-to-day service delivery
  • Build positive relationships with participants and their families
  • Keep the service safe, responsive and well organised
  • Use feedback and observation to improve activities and engagement
  • Contribute to the service’s growth across further locations over time

About You
You are an experienced disability services leader with a background in community participation, day programs or group-based support. You understand the NDIS and person-centred practice, and know how to support a team to deliver activities that are meaningful to participants.

You are organised, approachable and calm when priorities change. You can coach frontline staff, communicate well with participants and families, and bring sound judgement to day-to-day decisions. You also enjoy finding practical, creative ways to improve engagement and develop services.

You bring:

  • Experience leading or supervising frontline staff
  • Understanding of NDIS community participation or day program services
  • Confidence planning group activities and coordinating service delivery
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Good organisation and judgement in a changing environment
  • Cultural awareness and an inclusive approach to service delivery
Experience with Active Support, positive behaviour support, rostering or service documentation will be valued. Additional language skills relevant to the communities served would be an advantage.

What’s on Offer
  • A hands-on leadership role in a growing community service
  • The opportunity to shape an engaging and inclusive program
  • Scope to contribute to the service’s growth across locations
  • A varied role working with participants, families and frontline teams
