Job summary

Georges River Council is seeking a Parking Officer in Hurstville, NSW. The role involves on-foot and vehicle patrols, enforcing NSW legislation and Council policies to improve parking availability and accessibility for residents, businesses and visitors.

You will work with Senior Parking Officers, conduct school zone monitoring, and participate in enforcement activities while maintaining safety, customer service and teamwork across varied hours and days.

Qualifications

• Customer-facing experience in diverse communities with professional interaction.
• Strong written and verbal communication, with documentation accuracy.
• Good observational skills, sound judgement and safe decision making in the field.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in outdoor environments.
• Digital literacy across common field-service software and mobile devices.

Responsibilities

• Patrol assigned areas proactively and address community concerns through regulatory action.
• Monitor high-risk areas (school zones and business districts) to encourage compliance.
• Collaborate with Senior Parking Officers to provide consistent services across shifts.
• Prioritize safety by identifying and managing risks in outdoor environments.
• Educate the community and provide helpful advice as a Council representative.
• Maintain strong observation for efficient patrols and prompt responses.
• Stay current with ongoing training and development opportunities.
