Job summary

Bathurst Regional Council is seeking a regulatory enforcement professional to uphold parking restrictions and other regulatory duties. The role focuses on monitoring compliance and providing timely responses to regulatory matters to enhance community safety and amenity.

Applicants should have tertiary qualifications or relevant experience, plus the ability to investigate and gather evidence. A Class C NSW licence is required, with part-time, 15 hours per week, and a strong emphasis on service

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications relevant to the role or 3 years demonstrated experience in a regulatory role.
• Experience issuing Penalty Infringement Notices for parking offences.
• Ability and experience in investigations and collecting evidence from various sources.
• Organised and able to complete forms, records and documents to corporate standard.
• Solid knowledge of Public Spaces (Unattended Property) Act 2021 and Australian Road Rules 2014.
• Strong interpersonal, conflict resolution, negotiation and customer service skills.
• Basic to intermediate MS Word/Outlook and internet-based programs.
• Class C NSW Drivers Licence.

Responsibilities

• Enforce Council’s legislative and policy responsibilities to improve amenity and safety for the community.
• Actively monitor for compliance with parking restrictions, littering and unattended property.
• Provide an initial Council response to other regulatory matters when required.
