Job summary

Byron Shire Council is seeking a proactive Parking Officer to patrol roads, parks and public spaces within the Shire, ensuring parking rules are applied fairly and in line with policies and laws.

The role involves engaging with residents and visitors, resolving queries, and driving between locations. A rotating 7-day roster and ability to spend extended periods in a vehicle are essential.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated customer service experience.
• Strong interpersonal, communication and conflict resolution skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
• Confidence using computers, mobile technology and handheld devices.
• Knowledge of the Australian Road Rules.
• SEINS training, or ability to obtain it within one month of commencement.
• Availability to work a rotating roster across 7 days, including weekends and public holidays.
• Ability to spend extended periods working from a vehicle and adapt to working with a variety of personalities.
