Job summary

Osborne Richardson is assisting a Melbourne council with the recruitment of a Parking Officer on a contract basis. You will patrol the municipality, enforce parking and road rules, and respond to community requests, delivering fair, professional and consistent outcomes.

This customer-focused compliance role requires experience in parking enforcement or regulatory settings, with strong communication and observational skills to manage inquiries and incidents on location.

Qualifications

• Experience in parking enforcement, local laws, or a customer service or compliance role.
• Sound knowledge of road rules and parking legislation (highly regarded).
• Excellent communication and conflict de-escalation skills.

Responsibilities

• Patrol designated areas on foot and by vehicle to enforce parking restrictions and local law requirements.
• Issue infringement notices accurately and in line with legislation, policy and procedure.
• Respond to community complaints and requests relating to parking, abandoned vehicles and obstructions.
• Provide clear, courteous advice to residents, businesses and visitors, including when handling difficult interactions.
• Prepare accurate notes, reports and evidence to support infringement reviews and prosecutions.
• Support school safety and shopping precinct parking initiatives.
• Use handheld devices and enforcement systems to record and manage data.
