Job summary

Tamworth Regional Council is seeking a Traffic/Parking Officer who will be out in the community, enforcing parking rules and resolving concerns to improve outcomes for residents and road users.

The role requires confident communication, the ability to stay calm under pressure, and independent work with sound judgement. A current driver licence and immunisations are required, with some weekend work on a rotating roster.

Qualifications

• Higher School Certificate or equivalent is required.
• Current Driver Licence is essential.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills with diverse people.
• Ability to stay calm and professional in difficult situations.
• Resilience, sound judgement and the ability to apply rules fairly.
• Immunisation against Hepatitis, Tetanus and Q Fever, or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Undertake parking enforcement activities and respond to concerns and complaints to support safety and accessibility of roads;
• Work with the community to promote understanding and compliance with parking rules;
• Contribute to initiatives to improve efficiency and effectiveness of parking operations;
• Work collaboratively as part of the broader team to support effective parking management across the Local Government Area;
• Provide support to the Ranger team when required.
