Job summary

Gilgandra Shire Council is seeking a dedicated Community Engagement Officer to join our Growth and Liveability team in New South Wales. This full-time role delivers the Council’s communications and community engagement for the Council as a whole.

The position operates under the Local Government (State) Award 2023. A current driver’s licence and at least 2 years of relevant experience are required, with strong written and verbal communication and a collaborative mindset.

Qualifications

• WHS understanding and commitment.
• Current driver's licence.
• Minimum 2 years related experience.
• Tertiary qualification in communications, media, PR, marketing, or community development.
• Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Enthusiastic, self-motivated attitude.
• Strong time management and ability to set priorities.
• Excellent customer service with timely, helpful advice.
• Team oriented with collaborative approach.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Council’s communications and community engagement for the Council as a whole.
• Collaborate with Growth and Liveability team to support community initiatives.
• Maintain and develop relationships with stakeholders and residents.
• Ensure timely and accurate information is communicated to the public.
