Breakthru, part of the Royal Rehab Group, is seeking a casual Community Disability Support Worker in Atherton to support clients in homes, workplaces and community settings.

You'll assist with daily living, attend activities, provide transport help, meal prep and simple in-home supports, with weekend availability and occasional sleepovers at SIL. Female applicants may be preferred due to client needs; background checks are required.

Qualifications

• Criminal record check (essential or willing to obtain).
• Working with children’s check (essential or willing to obtain).
• NDIS Workers screening clearance (essential or willing to obtain).

Responsibilities

• Access the community for shopping, appointments and day-to-day activities.
• Participate in activities such as cooking, art, outdoor activities and excursions.
• Engage in social events and provide transportation assistance where required.
• Meal preparation and other simple in-home supports.
• Support clients in homes, workplaces and local neighbourhoods.

Please note: We are currently needing someone with availability to work weekends (preferably female due to our clients needs) for afternoon shifts and do an occasional sleepover at our SIL. Ideally we are needing someone who also has experience supporting clients with Schizophrenia.

About the role

We’re seeking a casual team member with flexibility to adapt to the needs of the individuals we support.

Key responsibilities include:

• Engagement in social events
