Breakthru Home & Living is hiring casual Disability Support Workers in Sydney’s Northern Beaches area. You will support clients in homes and community settings, promoting independence and quality of life.

Qualifications

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Current First Aid Certificate.
• Current unrestricted NSW Drivers Licence.
• Strong computer literacy skills.
• Robust understanding of the Disability Standards and ability to translate into practice.
• Willingness to obtain required checks (e.g. WWCC, NDIS screening).

Responsibilities

• Respect clients' choice and cultural requests of support workers.
• Assist with activities of daily living (care, mobility, transport, shopping, meals).
• Maintain privacy during personal care and administration.
• Provide person-centred support using a recovery-focused approach.
• Communicate effectively with clients, peers and supervisors.
• Work well in a team or independently to meet client needs.
• Adhere to risk management and mandatory reporting guidelines.
• Complete documentation and plans (reports, forms, progress notes).
• Collaborate with Accommodation Manager to improve service delivery.
• Be available for 24/7 roster including overnight or short shifts.
