Job summary

Mission Australia in Sydney seeks a Community Development Manager to lead initiatives that strengthen communities in Kingswood and surrounding areas. You will work with residents, partners and internal teams to drive engagement and deliver impactful programs that create positive social outcomes.

You will coach a high-performing team, manage budgets and funding opportunities, and identify community needs to maximise impact, delivering outcomes for people in need.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading community development or engagement programs.
• Strong stakeholder engagement with diverse communities.
• Demonstrated people leadership, coaching and develop teams.
• Excellent communication and facilitation across stakeholders.
• Strong project and program management, handling multiple priorities.
• Experience analyzing community needs and driving outcomes.
• Financial and budget management experience.
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Community Development or related discipline.

Your opportunity

Join us as a Community Development Manager and lead initiatives that create stronger, more connected communities. In this rewarding role, you will work closely with residents, community partners and internal teams to drive engagement, deliver impactful programs, build strategic partnerships and support positive social outcomes across the region. Your key responsibilities will be to:

• - Lead the planning, delivery and evaluation of community development programs and initiatives.
• - Build and maintain strong partnerships with residents, community organisations and key stakeholders.

• - Lead, coach and develop a high-performing team.

• - Collaborate with internal teams to deliver integrated, customer-focused services and positive resident outcomes.

Requirements for success

• - Proven experience leading community development, social impact or community engagement programs.
• - Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships across diverse communities.
• - Demonstrated people leadership experience, including coaching, mentoring and developing high-performing teams.
• - Excellent communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to engage and influence a broad range of stakeholders.
• - Strong project and program management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver outcomes.
• - Experience analysing community needs and implementing initiatives that drive positive social outcomes.
• - Financial and budget management experience, including monitoring resources and evaluating program performance.
• - Relevant tertiary qualification in Community Development, Social Sciences, Human Services or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
