Newport Bowling Club is seeking an experienced General Manager to lead a community-focused venue in Newport. You will manage day-to-day operations, work with the Board on strategic growth, and oversee bar, gaming, member services, events and facilities.

The role requires hands-on leadership, commercial acumen, and a passion for community clubs. You will drive member engagement, governance compliance and continuous improvement across the club.

Formación

• Experience leading clubs, hospitality venues or licensed premises.
• Strong understanding of gaming, bar, and member-focused operations.
• Experience with stock control, cellar management and venue administration.
• Experience with financial reporting, budgets, and external bookkeeping providers.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Hands-on leadership with a front-line approach.
• Passion for delivering outstanding member and guest experiences.

Responsabilidades

• Lead all club operations including bar, gaming, member services, events and facilities.
• Mentor and support staff across all departments.
• Oversee cellar operations, stock control and supplier relationships.
• Collaborate with external bookkeepers to manage accounts and financial administration.
• Attend and report at monthly Board meetings.
• Ensure corporate governance and compliance across the club.
• Drive membership engagement and community participation.
• Coordinate marketing initiatives and promotional activities.
• Work with the Board on future planning and strategic projects.
