The Rev. Bill Crews Foundation is seeking a passionate Chef to join Crews Café in Ashfield. You will take ownership of day-to-day food preparation, develop specials, and help refresh our menu while serving a diverse community with dignity and care.

This casual role offers 12–20 hours per week across weekday shifts, with an emphasis on fresh ideas, food safety, and collaborative teamwork in a welcoming environment that values inclusion and service.

Qualifications

• Experience in a commercial kitchen or cafe setting.
• Ability to manage day-to-day kitchen operations.
• Creative menu ideas and cost-conscious planning.
• Food Safety Supervisor Certificate or willingness to obtain one.
• Strong food safety and hygiene knowledge.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills.

Responsabilités

• Prepare and cook food for daily café service.
• Create and rotate daily and weekly specials.
• Develop a refreshed, simple, tasty menu suited to the community.
• Suggest ideas to improve the food offering.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised kitchen.
• Manage stock, rotate inventory, minimise waste.
• Use seasonal and donated produce creatively.
• Monitor food quality and presentation.
• Support smooth café operations with staff and volunteers.
• Contribute to a positive workplace culture.
